Crisis Management – sans wine

I had been planning to write, at this time, an ‘end of summer’ reflection on what it has been like attending sporting events, musical festivals, sunday afternoon beer garden sessions, hottest one hundred BBQs etc without drinking. It was going to be a light hearted piece about the challenges of partaking in all the normal summer activities without getting blind drunk, and I had hoped to reflect on how enjoyable the time was even without booze. As life would have it, I’m instead going to be writing about what it is like to overcome (or start to overcome) a personal crisis, without a bottle (or many) of wine. Without going into detail of the exact nature of my personal turmoil, in January I was confronted with a life crisis that I had to deal with.
