Won Down!

No… it\’s not a typo.  I really do feel as if I have WON this week! I won a clear head, lots of fun with my family and friends and the satisfaction of knowing I can do this! My husband was home this weekend and we had a birthday party to attend so I was really concerned that my resolve would crumble in the face of peer pressure and all that delicious wine… But I held fast, stayed strong and remained sober! And it was great! It was so nice to be able to drive home from a party rather than having to pack bags and bags of gear to spend the night on someones lumpy futon or hard floor.  I am sure the kids appreciated their nice, comfy beds and familiar surrounds too. Week 1 – A Sober Thought

I made the decision to join HSM and give up drinking for three months after spending yet another beautiful weekend laying in bed feeling horrible, unable to communicate with my children nevermind entertain them.  I often feel depressed for days after I drink, the guilt banging away inside my head, ten times worse than the hangover itself.  Being part of a large group of ‘social’ binge drinking (but utterly fabulous) women who I cherish tremendously, I have put off attempting this for years.  How am I going to have fun with them sober??
