Well, its been so long since my last drink that I have lost count of the days. It must be over two months now since my last disastrous encounter with alcohol. I have returned from my extended holiday overseas and am back in the swing of things – settling back into normal life. I am living in the same share house I was living in before I left. I was afraid of how difficult it would be to return, as drinking was a big part of life in the house. A week after my overdose, I returned to collect my things before starting a two week stint in rehab. My flatmate went to the shops and returned with 5 litres of wine and a bottle of Makers Mark. Introduce yourself right now

Hi! This is my first post, I have been sober for a month already, but it’s taken me a while to take the plunge and join HSM. My reason for finally joining was because I thought it would be useful for me to document my time and experiences of sobering up and getting over my alcoholism. Being on a site like this will hopefully act as encouragement to write. I’m usually pretty lazy when it comes to that sort of stuff. For me, becoming sober was pretty important – maybe even as serious as being life or death. I have had a problem with alcohol for the last 4 years – I say 4 years because that is when I started the slide into alcoholism.
