One month(ish) down – life is good!

I meant to post my first update exactly one month into my HSM but life kinda got in the way. So I\’m one month and a bit down and I can honestly say I am feeling awesome! I have been using this time to not only reassess my relationship with alchohol but also my relationship with life. We seem to be getting on so much better and I guess that\’s because I\’m actively contributing to the relationship these days. This is what I have acheived in a month: – started running again. I believe this is the absolute cure to any depressive and apathetic thoughts in my mind. – given up smoking #329 (okay except for those 4-5 sneaky ciggies I had at a girlfriend\’s house) – not had a single drop of alchohol – started feeling like my old self again I don\’t think about drinking – ever. Pre-Hello Sunday Morning…

I get that the hello sunday morning concept was originally aimed at the 18-24 yo binge drinking age group, however, I think it has evolved beyond that now. So here I am, on the brink of being 31 and for the first time in my life, thinking that alchohol has become a bit of a problem for me. I’m here because I have recognised I need to stop it from becomming a big problem. HSM is the platform that I am using to kickstart that process. See, when I was 18-24, I didn’t drink a whole lot. Sure, I went out an partied and participated in a whole range of risky behaviours that probably did more harm than a weekly binge drinking session would have but I gave most of that up as I hit my mid twenties.
