Last night I told a few of my close friends about HSM and how it works. They seemed very interested and supportive which is exactly what I was hoping for. Australia Day is tomorrow and I\’ve decided to go to the river with a friend (who is happy not to drink), and spend the day swimming. I know it will be a good day, and there will be no Friday hangover, but at the same time I\’m a little bummed that I won\’t be partying with all my friends. Tomorrow will be an alcohol free day. Then comes the weekend! The first alcohol free one. I think planning things to keep myself busy will be what keeps me in check. Saturday beach and Sunday horse-riding. DAY 1

‘Houston, we have a problem’ I have spent the last hour trying to write something interesting and honest for you, and for myself, to read. I can’t think of much, but this is what I do know: I am embarrased and ashamed – Monday morning was absolutley awful. Sunday night I sat in my room and had a glass of red. Than another. Than a beer. Then two ciders. Than I cracked open another bottle of red. This is all I remember. Mum had left at 6am Monday morning to fly out to her job so was not home when I woke up. I felt disgusting and very sick. At around 10am my aunty rocked up with a very sad look on her face and asked me to sit down. She then told me that around 1am the night before, mum had found me passed out in the shower, non responsive. [...]
