I'm Blair, 27 from Brisbane. I work at a music college in Brisbane teaching Film and TV to grade 11/12 students and run my own business, Brisbane Sounds which promotes Brisbane music locally and internationally. All through primary school from grade 1 to grade 7 I was bullied because of my weight. I then went from 135kg's in 2002 to 78kg's in 2006 but due to living overseas and travelling for close to 4 out of the previous 5 years where alcohol formed a huge part of my life, I have gone back up to over 100kg's and I've made the decision that that needs to change before I get any older. Coming from a behavioural studies and education background, I've been really intrigued by this project since it started. Does Australia have a problem with grog? Do we need to change the perception and culture of alcohol consumption amongst young people, especially males? And from a music industry perspective, do we really need to have a beer at 10am in the morning on a Tuesday? or can we have alcohol free venues, festivals and events? Either way, there's no harm in having a break from grog.
Start a soul band without the influence, need or desire for alcohol for confidence.
