My first friday night.

It was day four, friday night and off to work ( I work in a bar ). I did great, I declined the sneaky beverages as as it got busier to keep us going through the evening and when we had closed did not feel the need to have a few drinks. To the surprise of my work mates while we sat around the bar talking about the night over a few drinks I sat with a pot of chamomile tea. A week ago, I would never imagine that I would ever do that. It was great, I was not envious of my mates drinking beers and wine at all. I think the key is not don’t have a beverage but have the routine but make it non alcoholic. The bad news

I was just cooking and realised how much I am going to miss opening a bottle of red while preparing dinner! A big part of this for me is to break a lot of established patterns I have about drinking. See you in 3 months delicious red wine !!!!

This is it!

I stopped drinking 3 days ago but now ready to commit to no drinking for 3 months. I moved to Melbourne 12 months ago with so many creative goals and plans. As I moved on my own I thought that a job in hospitality would be a great place to meet people and have some fun. I was right. Fun happens every day and so do the knock offs after work and boozey lunches and dinners when not at work. This has all been great and a load of fun but It is now time to focus on what I want in life and what I plan to achieve. I am excited about the next 3 months without alcohol and the motivation that will come with it.
