Today marks 90 days of sobriety. And my second blog for HSM – one to start and one to end. Seemed fitting. Tomorrow I embark on a big day of podcast recording for my pet project, Stuff and Things. Tomorrow night, I will have my first drink in 3 months. Sunday morning, well, who can tell. I may be wishing I never left HSM.  At the start, my goals were few and simple. I set out to see if I could (turns out I can), be a bit healthier (I swear I must be the only person to give up booze and actually plump up) and to save some dosh (always helpful). Alcohol and I have never really been in a serious relationship. Sure, there was a period from about the age of 18 to 22 where I ‘totes in love’ with going out, drinking anything that was enhanced with synthetic fruit flavours and dancing to tragic music is sweaty, smelly pubs and clubs. So at the time, alcohol and I saw a lot of each other I guess. But time and friend groups change and as I’ve gotten older – I’ve gotten over it. We’ve drifted apart, alcohol and I.
