Well, I went out on the town sober on the weekend for the first time ever!!! That was f*#kin different!!! I saw a lot of people who know me to be a little pissed by the time I get to Paddy’s, one of which is the bar manager, who noticed that I didn’t yell out his name or ask for a pint of Bulmers… he gave me the weirdest look and then asked why I wanted a pint of the clear stuff on tap, water. I explained myself and he thought it was a great idea, and wished me the best of luck. It was quite interesting watching everyone slowly change over the proceedings of the night. I’m 2 weeks and a bit into my three month HSM. I know the support I have around me is great. My fiancé, my family, friends the lot, some people though still think that I am not me if I’m not drinking. It has been quite a surprise that the people that I thought would have the worst reactions have been the most understanding??? What’s with that??? It only makes sense when they relate to a time when they gave up the drink and the reasons behind why they did. I am enjoying this, I’m thinking of how proud I will be of myself when I get through it all, I’m thinking of how much money my fiancé and I are saving, I’m thinking of the new lifestyle I am having on the weekends… Sunday morning haha.   Hi there, my name is David Parker and I am one week into 3 months without alcohol. I have a few reasons why I am doing this so I’ll start with the reason that made me think of doing it. I had my work Xmas party not too long ago, you know, free drinks, not enough food type of thing… all was going so well till I woke up in the morning not remembering much past 12.00 and there being a whole lot of stuff done that I have no recollection of doing!
