Hi everyone, sorry I have not been on the site for a few days because I have been very busy.  Not dating young men nooooo.  I had to accompany a grandson of my friend when he did his grade 1 clarenet exam and we only had 1 half hour practice.   Mind you the piano part is much more difficult than the clarenet part.  Anyway I have been practising and practising and the exam was on Saturday.   The examiner was nice and I told him that I was a inexperienced last minute ring in, I was hoping he would take pity on me.  Matthew was very nervous but the examiner let us have a little practice before we started the real thing and put the boy totally at ease.  Put me at ease as well.  Yesterday I was off to lunch with my Circle of Friends and could have killed for [...]

Had my lunch date but no fireworks.   Man was nice enough but a bit too old for me.  He is 79, mind you a pretty spritely 79 but hey I am a very young 67 so I shall just continue with my life and now pay more attention to HSM.   xx

I have been so busy  and have not been logging on as much as I usually do.  I got a last minute booking to accompany a clarinet student in his exam so I have to practise all the pieces up before Saturday.  I would swap for the clarinet part any day.  There is only one note to play at a time where as piano there are several.  Anyway the examiner is examining the student not me (I hope).    Going to meet my new friend today.  Was originally going to be Saturday but changed to today.  I am cool with it.  He seems a nice enough man albiet a little bit older than me but he sounds pretty active and healthy. Have started knitting a beautiful Afgan rug for my new grandchild due in July in England.  I found this fantastic shop where they only cater for knitting.  Beautiful yarn available [...]

Counting up my HSM

I stopped counting where I was up to in my HSM because really I can’t ever drink and guarantee my behaviour so it is always just for today.   I thought I would count up and it is 10 weeks yesterday that I restarted my HSM because I had 2 days off in the previous one.  First time 10 1/2 weeks so I will be very happy when I get past the next 3 1/2 days.  I still occasionally think of a Sav blanc, and yesterday when I went to get my sugar cane mulch out of my daughters car boot there was a box of bubbly in there.  I thought of pinching just 1 and then realised that 1 would never be enough so better put that thought back where it came from.  I really wouldn’t steal her wine but if I was drinking and in need of a fix [...]

Mother’s Day Post

Well I had a lovely Mother’s day.  I got my own porridge and took it back to bed with my cuppa as I usually do and had my coffee mid morning.  My son who wanted to take me to the KT (Kenmore Tavern) for breakfast was still sleeping off his Saturday night.  So I did some cleaning and cooking then my daughter came and brought some nice lunch and then we got into the garden.  I am getting ready for a very hot shower because I am aching everywhere.  The best present I got was my son coming out and speaking to my daughter.  I think he may be growing up.   She had a go at him once for the way he was treating me so he was never going to speak to her again.  He bought me a lovely card, some scratchies and some Crabtree and Evelyn bath things [...]
