For everyone just starting out on their three months I just wanted to say you can do it! I never thought I would manage this amount of time without a drink but I am coming up to my three months. Only just over two weeks left. I just looked at my goals and am making good progress. This time has helped me have time to realise that it doesn’t make life any easier having a drink in the evening. I am sleeping better and have tried out new things. I not sure what life holds for me after this challenge. Either I can carry on or. Have the occasional glass of wine with a nice dinner. Who knows, but now I know that it is easy enough to make a different choice with what to choose to drink and that I don’t have to drink to be sociable.

Well done me!

Hello Sunday Morning. Feeling like telling myself well done! Tomorrow will be half way through the challenge I set of no drinking for three months. I am really pleased with myself and surprised. The next half I really need to get the other goals on their way so that I have more fun things in my routine and life like the exercise (want a good yoga and zumba course to sign up to) and start meeting some new people. Here goes for part 2!

Boredom is dangerous

Coming up to the end of week four and finding it much easier than I thought. Still have the thoughts driving home of having a glass of wine but that thought quickly goes in a couple of secs. The boredom factor I have realised is the killer and am still struggling with something interesting to do than sitting on the sofa watching rubbish tv. At least I am bored without a glass of wine I suppose. I need to think about my goals I set but it is challenging to go back out after you have come home from a days work. Excuses, excuses!! Oh well, at least I am nearly one third through my challenge. Can\’t believe it actually. It was so easy before to be good for a while then decide I have been good enough for a treat. Three months is long enough to change those habits.

Just got in from a busy day at work. Instead of grabbing a big glass of wine helped myself to a large glass of ice, slice of lemon and tonic. Good start:)

Night before day 1

Read about this today and going to give it a go starting Monday morning. Will be a good challenge but will need to find some things to keep me busy in the evenings. Looking forward to not slumpingin front of tv with a glass of wine and heading to bed early! Lots of inspiration on this site.
