Alright I’ll admit it, they’re not my abs, I can’t back that up (at least not yet!) but it got you reading my blog The topic that I want to focus on this week is about setting goals and making the most of the opportunities we get. We all have goals in life, infact we all set some goals when creating our HSM profiles. For example, a common goal I see on this site is to gain fitness and lose weight (in my case get those abs!). But what if life never gave us the chance to set achievable goals or better our lives? Following on from my last post I found myself walking home from work thinking about all the goals that I wanted to achieve, the places in the world that I was yet to visit and all the experiences that I was soon to have. HSM take two! I’m ashamed to admit it but my first attemp at a 3 month HSM was a complete failure. Turned down a booty call, started planning my trip to Europe, and back at gym tomorrow. Winning!

So two weeks tomorrow and I can’t believe how unbelievably focused I am! I’m killing it at work, my savings are going well and I’ll be up at 5:00am tomorrow to hit the gym before starting my work day. No feelings of loneliness this week just determination to work towards my goals. I even turned down a booty call from a female work colleague (who was drunk) on Friday night after she called me at 3:00am. The old Harith would have gone for it in a flash; in fact I would normally be the one making the call! This time around however I thought about the consequences and realised that I didn’t want to sell myself so cheaply to someone I had no feelings for. I politely declined. I spent my day today sitting in the sun drinking a coffee (four of them actually) with my Lonely Planet guide book [...]

Day 8

No dramas to report during the week so here’s another quote to help motivation: I’d gone through life believing in the strength and competence of others; never in my own. Now, dazzled, I discovered that my own capabilities were real. It was like finding a fortune in the lining of an old coat – Joan Mills

Phew after being a bit depressed last night the motivation is back with a vengeance! I think the way to avoid being bored on my weekend is to plan for it in advance. I’ll let you know how I go
