nice one, so someone asks me today how my HSM is going and I had almost forgotten I was doing it so had to use a date calculator to work out how many days down I was! To me thats a good thing as when I did my first HSM, it seem to play on my head each day ticking over.I even downloaded some crappy iphone app to help me keep track of where I was at but this time around its been like riding the good time sailing ship! I spent a big night out with some old uni mates on Sat and did the sports bar thing watching a big fight night for Kiwis- the David Tua Redemtion fight.Dave took a bit of a hiding and hardly redeemed himself but for me I just had goodtimes with the boys.It wasn’t really mentioned that I wasnt drinking.They all got [...]

All good with 16 down.Been to some  great gigs and NZ  basketball finals and apart from having the urge to get on it I refrained.Somedays seem easier than others, I find if I’ve got something planned its OK but when unplanned evenings kick in I get bored and open the fridge every 10 minutes looking for whatever is there!!! Had a journo interview me recently on how I got through my first HSM and why I was doing number two and today the photographer came and took some pictures for the feature article.Those who still didn’t know I was doing this will by the 30th of this month when it appears in a nationwide daily as a feature article!!!Gosh not sure I’m ready for that but I suppose doing this whole thing is all about throwing yourself out their and finding out what happens!!! Doing good so far on my second HSM 3 month mission, but have had some cracker headaches each day, im picking that it is from coffee withdrawl! never happy to settle for just cutting out one thing Im going for broke by doing coffee, junkfood and finger nail biting ( this was the one that bet me on my first HSM, revolting habbit I know!) along with knocking the booze on the head. Found the key for me each day is having a plan so I don’t get bored in the evening, cause when bored those thoughts of wanting to get boozed appear. So tonight its watching your countries game (State OF O) with coke zero, lastnight was sitting down and listening from start to finish to a vinyl record that i really love (radiohead In rainbows) and tomorrow night is working on a new song in my studio. Finished and Started…

So here I am again at day 1 starting over for another 3 month alchohol free life but before I start, I need to finish so to speak. On April 30th 2011 I finished my first HSM challange which was completing 90 days of being away from the bottle, I actually did 100 days as it seemed like a grander number at the time but thats another story! I have only just discovered that I never managed to get my final post up to the blog so I need to let you know how it all went. It was great! My goals were to losearound 10 kilos of weight and to start walking to work each day.I did both losing around 17 kilos which was amazing and did the trek to and from the city(Wellington) everyday. wow,46 days down and so much has happened.I haven’t posted since starting but have read so many amazing posts and feel privileged to know we are sharing this amazing thing together.I probably haven’t posted as i didn’t feel my writing was up to the standard of the incredible writers on this site but then I realized that doesn’t matter as this is my journey, and I should be heard! everyone at my work really thought it was a bit of a joke to start with, so many friday night drink jokes were thrown  around my way and bottle of great NZ beers were brushed under my nose but it didnt really bother me.I decided to plan what I was going to do on Friday nights in advance so I had a reason to leave work.It could be simple things like planning to walk the dog whilst listening to the new [...]
